Anorexia Nervosa
What is it?
Anorexia Nervosa is a serious eating disorder that affects both males and females of all ages.
There are three essential features of this disorder:
- Restriction of energy or food intake is below that is required to sustain minimal function for sex, age and developemental level.
- The intense fear of putting on weight or becoming overweight, or persistent behavior that interferes with gaining weight.
- Disturbance in the way one’s body shape or weight is experienced. This could also mean the denial of current low body weight.

Patients who are severely underweight might require in-patient treatment or hospital stay before entering our outpatient treatment program.
We want to help our patients with Anorexia achieve and maintain a healthy weight, help them create healthy eating habits and address the underlying issues that contributed to their disorder.
